Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 6:30 p.m. Monday on Coyote Drive, six miles south of Joplin in Newton County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Both drivers involved, Phillip Smith, 45, of Seneca, and Robert G. Hardee, 33, of Wyandotte, Okla., and a passenger in Hardee’s vehicle, James L. Haynes, 2, were taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Joplin, the state patrol said.

Hardee’s northbound car crossed the center line of the highway and struck Smith’s southbound car head-on, the patrol said.

n An Aurora resident was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 11:15 p.m. Monday on County Road 2010, three miles south of Aurora in Barry County, the state patrol said.

Manuel R. Perez, 32, was taken to St. John’s Regional Health Center in Springfield, the patrol said.

Perez was driving a westbound pickup truck that ran off the road and struck a tree, the patrol said.

n Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 11:10 a.m. Tuesday on Farm Road 2040, two miles south of Monett in Barry County, the state patrol said.

One of the drivers involved, Colleen Kaiser, 50, of Monett, was taken to St. John’s Hospital in Cassville. Anne Culler, 33, of Purdy, a passenger in a vehicle driven by Amber Soulder, 25, of Purdy, was taken to Cox Monett Hospital, the patrol said.
