NEVADA, Mo. — The Prairie Pride Inc. biodiesel fuel plant will have a grand opening celebration Saturday.

Public tours will be given from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The plant is located at 1770 S. Route T in the Deerfield community, west of Nevada.

There will be a ceremony at 10:30 a.m. with visiting dignitaries. After the presentation, meals of barbecue brisket and smoked chicken will be served.

The plant is producing biodiesel from soybean oil using wastewater from Fort Scott, Kan.

The plant employs 48.
