A Carthage woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate 44, three miles east of Joplin, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Brandy L. Miller, 35, was taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West, the patrol said.
Miller was driving a westbound vehicle and braked suddenly to avoid an accident, causing her vehicle to run off the road and strike the median, the patrol said.
n A 23-year-old man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 5:06 a.m. Wednesday on Murphy Boulevard near Lone Elm Road, the Joplin Police Department said.
Matthew L. Beck, 17441/2 W. 20th St., was taken by ambulance to an unspecified hospital, the department said.
Beck was driving an eastbound car that slid off the roadway and struck a tree when he hit the brakes, police said.
n A Seneca woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday on Missouri Highway 86, a mile south of Redings Mill in Newton County, according to the Missouri patrol.
Judith S. Williams, 28, was taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin.
Williams was driving a southbound car that crossed the center line and struck a northbound truck driven by Buttonstet L. Cameron, 41, of Joplin, the patrol said.
n Two Carthage residents were injured in a motorcycle-car collision at 8:35 p.m. Monday on County Road 130, two miles south of Carthage in Jasper County, the state patrol said.
The driver of the motorcycle, Daniel L. Cupp, 55, and his passenger, Deborah Cupp, 54, were taken by ambulance to McCune-Brooks Regional Hospital in Carthage.
The Cupps’ northbound motorcycle collided with a southbound pickup truck driven by John S. Taylor, 67, of Carthage, as they met on the crest of a hill, the patrol said.
n A Pineville man was injured in a motorcycle accident at 5:50 p.m. Monday on Cyclone Road, seven miles east of Anderson in McDonald County, the state patrol said.
Cole Austin, 26, was taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the patrol said.
Austin’s motorcycle ran off the road and struck some trees, the patrol said.
n A 90-year-old man was injured when the station wagon he was driving was struck by a train at 11:59 a.m. Monday in Arcadia, Kan., the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department said.
Robert W. Byington, of Garland, Kan., was taken by ambulance to Fort Scott Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott, Kan., authorities said.
Byington was westbound on Arcadia Street and failed to stop at the Burlington Northern Santa Fe tracks as a train was coming through, the department said. The train struck his vehicle and threw it into a ditch along the tracks, the department said.
n A Joplin man and a woman were injured in a motorcycle accident at 2:05 p.m. Sunday on a county road about six miles northeast of Peoria in Ottawa County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.
The driver of the motorcycle, Gregory Joe Stephens, 56, was taken to Freeman Hospital West with serious injuries, the patrol said. His passenger, Susie Tuomuala, 53, hometown unavailable, was taken from the scene in a private vehicle, the patrol said.
Their motorcycle was southbound when it overturned onto its side and slid 62 feet before striking a tree, the patrol said.
n A 56-year-old man was injured in a motorcycle accident at 9:47 a.m. Saturday on a county road a little less than two miles west of Jay in Delaware County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.
Allmand Allen, of Tulsa, Okla., was flown by medical helicopter to St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa, the patrol said.
Allen was eastbound when he lost control of the motorcycle on a curve, and it crossed the center line and struck a guardrail, the patrol said.
