An unofficial count of injuries from a multiple-vehicle accident this morning is up to seven.

Miranda Lewis, spokesperson for St. John’s Regional Medical Centers, said that four patients were treated at the hospital. Two are in critical condition with severe burns; they will be transported to Springfield hospitals for treatment, Lewis said.

One suffered a broken bone and was listed in serious condition. The fourth is listed as being in good condition and will likely be released today, Lewis said.

Heather Goff, spokesperson for Freeman Health System, reported receiving two victims of injuries. Both were listed in good condition.

Pam Barlet, spokesperson for McCune Brooks Hospital, reported earlier that one had been admitted to the Carthage hospital. The condition of that patient is unknown.

An earlier report of three fatalities in the accident remains unconfirmed.
