A Purdy resident suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday on Missouri Highway 97, five miles west of Purdy in Barry County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Charles N. Knatcal, 40, was flown by medical helicopter to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, the patrol said.

Knatcal was driving a southbound pickup truck that ran off the road and struck a tree, the patrol said.

n Two Granby teenagers were injured in a single-vehicle accident at 6:10 p.m. Wednesday on Route H, four miles south of Granby in Newton County, the state patrol said.

The driver of the car, Shealaree L. Hounschell, 16, and her passenger, Sheridan L. Hounschell, 14, were taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the patrol said.

The southbound car ran of the road and struck a culvert, the patrol said.

n Two Arkansas residents were injured in a single-vehicle accident at 4:20 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. Highway 71 in Nevada, the state patrol said.

The driver of the sport utility vehicle, Ollivia L. Reddick, 62, and her passenger, Henry L. Fenwick, 59, both of Fayetteville, were taken to the Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada, the patrol said.

The northbound vehicle ran off the road and overturned when Reddick lost control of it because of troubles with a trailer the vehicle was towing, the patrol said.

n Two Carthage residents were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 8:54 p.m. Tuesday on Seventh Street near Empire Avenue, according to the Joplin Police Department.

The driver of one of the vehicles, Jennifer L. Hall, 21, and her passenger, Linda Anderson, 48, were taken to Freeman Hospital West, police said.

Hall’s car was westbound on Seventh Street and slowing to make a right turn onto Empire Avenue when a van driven by Henry J. Clemmon, 46, 1825 W. Second St., ran into it from behind, police said.
