Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 8:50 a.m. Wednesday on Owl Road, four miles east of Neosho in Newton County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Elizabeth L. Rogers, 23, of Neosho, and Sasha L. Short, 21, of Monett, were taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the patrol said.

They were passengers in a northbound car driven by Donna D. Matheson, 44, of Neosho. It was struck by a southbound Jeep driven by Stefanie L. Wright, 19, of Granby, when Wright’s vehicle crossed the center of the road, the patrol said.

n A 13-year-old Verona boy was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday on County Road 2210, two miles west of Verona in Lawrence County, the state patrol said.

Brent H. Downs was taken to St. John’s Regional Health Center in Springfield, the patrol said.

Downs was a passenger in a westbound pickup truck driven by Caleb P. Downs, 16, of Verona, that left the road and struck a culvert, the patrol said.
