An Anderson man was injured in a bicycle-pickup accident at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday on Cedar Road east of Anderson, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Timothy M. Lester, 19, the bicyclist, sustained serious injuries. He was transported to Freeman Neosho Hospital.

Jess A. Goff, 45, Pineville, driver of the pickup, was not injured.

The patrol said Lester was going west in the center of the eastbound lane. Goff, who was going east, traveled off the south edge of the road to avoid striking Lester, who veered off of the road to avoid a collision.

n A Baxter Springs, Kan., woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 11:57 a.m. Tuesday at Madison and Smelter streets in Pittsburg, Kan., police said.

Ashley Powell, 18, driver of a car, was injured. She was taken to Mount Carmel Medical Center, Pittsburg.

Chad Gobl, 18, Arma, Kan., driver of a pickup, was not injured.

Police said Powell, who was going west, collided with Gobl, who was going north. Powell’s vehicle also struck a utility pole.
