Though a line of people waiting to vote stretched across the foyer and out the doors of the Calvary Church of the Nazarene at 2802 Connecticut Ave., those coming out reported relatively short waiting times to vote.

One Joplin resident, Chris Cunningham, said he stood in line only about five minutes before he was able to cast his vote for John McCain.

“I’m ex-Army and I support him for all he went through as a POW and I agree with his policies,” Cunningham said. “He has more experience. He’s been tested.”

The church served as a combined polling place for Precincts 22 and 26 because there are so few voters in Precinct 22, an election official said.
