Election officials in Crawford County said Wednesday that the race for county attorney remains too close to call.
A 70-vote margin is all that separates Republican challenger Michael Gayoso Jr. from ousting incumbent Democrat John Gutierrez. Gayoso received 7,543 votes to Gutierrez’s 7,473 during Tuesday’s general election.
Crawford County Clerk Don Pyle said the county still has more than 800 provisional ballots, which will be counted during statewide canvassing on Monday.
“Normally we do it on Friday,” Pyle said. “But with this quantity, we’re going to try and move it to Monday.”
