A federal judge has sentenced an Oswego, Kan., man to four months in prison and four months of home confinement for his role in the theft of explosives from a factory in Cherokee County, Kan.

Jonathan Farley, 26, pleaded guilty in December to one count of aiding and abetting explosives theft while he worked as a security guard at Hallowell Manufacturing. The sentence was announced Monday by acting U.S. Attorney Marietta Parker.

The federal complaint charged Farley with allowing unauthorized people onto the property, resulting in the theft of a nearly 28-pound detonation cord and other explosive material.

Co-defendant Darrell Cook, 34, of Wichita, Kan., was sentenced to seven years in federal prison after pleading guilty to possession of stolen explosives.

Co-defendant Shane Knoffloch, 37, of Wichita, was sentenced to three years in federal prison after pleading guilty to possession of stolen explosives.
