Kansas Gov. Mark Parkinson has named his chief of staff, Troy Findley, as lieutenant governor.

Findley, who also served as chief of staff for Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, is a former Democratic state representative from Lawrence.

In his new position, Findley will continue to serve as Parkinson’s chief of staff. He will be sworn in on Friday.

Parkinson, the previous lieutenant governor, became governor upon the appointment of Sebelius as secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services.
