Six people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 7 p.m. Monday on Missouri Highway 86, three miles east of Racine in Newton County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
One of the drivers, Cynthia L. Weaver, 46, of Neosho, was flown by medical helicopter to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the state patrol said. Three passengers in Weaver’s car — Eunice M. Powell, 91, of Webb City, and Daniel D. Weaver, 49, and James D. Weaver, 6, both of Neosho — were taken by ambulance to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Joplin, the patrol said.
The other driver, James K. Giberti, 22, and his passenger, Caleb E. McGuffey, 22, both of Neosho, also were taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center, the patrol said.
Giberti’s eastbound car crossed the center line and struck Weaver’s westbound car head-on, the patrol said.
n An Arkansas teenager was injured in a motorcycle accident at 7:40 p.m. Monday on Missouri Highway 112, two miles north of Seligman in Barry County, the state patrol said.
Trevor C. Taylor, 18, of Bentonville, was taken by ambulance to Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, the patrol said.
Taylor was riding a southbound motorcycle that ran off the road, the patrol said.
n Three people were injured in a single-vehicle accident at 4:20 p.m. Monday on a county road eight miles west of Jay, Okla., the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.
The driver, Shyla M. Caughman, 22, and two of her passengers, Natasha Dick, 22, and Nicole Blazinski, 21, all from Jay, were flown by medical helicopter to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Joplin, the patrol said. The northbound pickup truck ran off the road and rolled once, coming to rest on its wheels, the patrol said. Caughman was thrown from the vehicle, the patrol said.
