<img src=" http://www.joplinglobeonline.com/images/zope/new.gif" border=0>Tornado warnings in Barton, Crawford counties



A tornado warning is in effect for northern Crawford County, Kan., until 4 p.m. today, according to the National Weather Service station at Springfield.

At 3:26 p.m., Doppler radar indicated a tornado near Greenbush, which is about nine miles east of Girard, Kan. The storm was moving east/southeast at 25 mph.

The towns of Ringo, Polk, Lone Oak and Franklin are in the path of this storm, which is capable of producing large hail up to the size of golf balls.

A second tornado warning also is in effect until 4 p.m. for northwestern Barton County, Mo.

The towns of Englevale, Arma, Arcadia, Mulberry and Frontenac in Kansas, and Mindenmines and Liberal in Missouri are in the path of this storm.
