NEOSHO, Mo. —
The Neosho City Council hasn’t reached a decision about appealing a November court decision allowing the Neosho Transportation Development District to continue.
Now, the city is facing another potential complication. Mayor Richard Davidson on Wednesday said a taxpayer lawsuit in another jurisdiction is expected to be filed against a TDD there. Davidson didn’t identify the jurisdiction.
“We’re now very likely to be named a defendant in the lawsuit,” Davidson said. He said city attorney Steven Hays is continuing to research the situation.
Davidson released the information after a closed-door session at Tuesday’s City Council meeting.
The mayor said the new information has “muddied the waters” related to the appeal decision.
