COLUMBUS, Kan. — The Cherokee County Commission on Monday approved a resolution allowing Sunday beer sales at businesses in unincorporated areas of the county.

The measure would take effect 60 days after publication, unless a petition is filed to place the issue on the August primary ballot.

The Commission has been debating the issue at least two years, including holding public hearings in 2010.
