COLUMBUS, Kan. —
A boil water advisory that has been in place in Columbus since Monday was lifted today, said City Superintendent Jim Burton.
Burton said the water is safe to drink.
Lightning struck the city’s water tower early Monday, blasting a water line out of the ground and shorting out a water pump.
Repairs were made and water pressure had been restored by Tuesday, but the boil water advisory had remained in effect for drinking water.
