CARTHAGE, Mo. — A new president of the Carthage Chamber of Commerce will be introduced on Tuesday.

A selection for the post was made this week, according to JoAnn Evans, chairman of the chamber committee that interviewed candidates for the vacancy.

The new president will be announced, and introduced, at a press conference on Tuesday, according to John Bode, current chamber president.

The committee began work late last year after Bode, who had held the post for three years, announced plans to resign. Bode agreed to remain until a new president can be found, but said he and his wife then would return to Northeast Missouri for family reasons. Before coming to Carthage, Bode had served as executive director of the Lewis County Industrial Development Authority in Monticello.
