An Ash Grove boy was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 9:40 a.m. Saturday in the eastbound lane of Interstate 44 in Jasper County, a mile west of Carthage, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
David J. Henry, 9, was taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West with minor injuries, the patrol said. He was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Vance G. Hopkins, 47, of Joplin, who was not injured, the patrol said.
The eastbound Hopkins vehicle went out of control and slid into the path of an eastbound vehicle driven by Lorissa L. Stokes, 40, of Springfield, the patrol said.
n A Galena, Kan., woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 10:20 a.m. Saturday on Malang Road in Jasper County, less than a mile north of Route 66, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Doris A. Laurance, 62, was taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West with minor injuries, the patrol said.
The northbound Laurance vehicle slid off the road, striking a fence, according to the patrol.
n A Pittsburg, Kan., man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 11:50 a.m. Saturday on U.S. Highway 71 in Vernon County, two miles north of Horton, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Leonard D. Hudson, 35, was taken to Nevada Regional Hospital with minor injuries, the patrol said.
The patrol said the southbound Hudson vehicle ran off the right side of the road. The vehicle then went down an embankment and struck a ditch, the patrol said.
n Two Noel residents were injured in a single-vehicle accident at 12:50 p.m. Saturday on U.S. Highway 71 in Vernon County, four miles south of Rich Hill, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The driver, Mohamed O. Noor, 24, and his passenger, Ibrahim Ahmed, 22, were both taken by ambulance to Nevada Regional Hospital with minor injuries, the patrol said.
The patrol said the northbound Noor vehicle went out of control on the icy road and ran off the left side of the road, overturning.
n A Carl Junction man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 5 p.m. Friday on Route JJ in Jasper County, about two miles south of Carl Junction, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Jeff A. Baert, 46, was taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin with serious injuries, the patrol said.
The southbound Baert vehicle traveled off the road and into a ditch, the patrol said.
