MIAMI, Okla. — The cause of a fire Thursday night at a house in Miami remained under investigation Friday.
Lt. John Turner of the Miami Fire Department said firefighters were called at 11:46 p.m. to the 300 block of C Street Southwest, where they found heavy smoke coming a two-story house. No injuries were reported and the house appeared to have been unoccupied at the time, according to Turner.
He said firefighters were on the scene until 1:56 a.m. Friday. The fire is believed to have started on a stairway leading from the main floor to the second story. He said a cause of the fire had yet to be determined. The identity of the owner of the house also was not available.
