ST. LOUIS (AP) — Two children’s service agencies plan to merge, forming what they describe as one of the largest children’s non-profits in Missouri.
Boys & Girls Town of Missouri and Edgewood Children’s Center say they are joining forces in October will expand services to children and families and strengthen the impact of state funds and donor support.
The new organization will employ 735 staff members on a budget of $31.8 million.
Each agency’s board of directors voted Thursday to approve the merger, which forms a new, but as-yet unnamed parent organization for a family of agencies.
St. Louis will be headquarters of the new parent agency, which will serve roughly 7,800 children and family members annually from four regional campuses.
