A Parsons, Kan., man died in the wake of a motorcycle accident at 2:12 a.m. Sunday on Ness Road, between Parsons and Altamont in Labette County, Kan.

The Labette County Sheriff’s Department said the motorcycle driven by Joshua Shepeard was headed north when it went off the road, traveling 210 feet through a fence and throwing the driver off. Shepeard was flown by helicopter to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, where he died.

n A Walnut, Kan., man was injured in a motorcycle accident at 1 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of Main Street in Walnut.

According to a Crawford County Sheriff’s Department report, the driver, Frankie Herrod, 32, was taken by private vehicle to Girard Medical Center with a cut on his leg. Details of the accident were not available Monday
