MIAMI, Okla. — A fire early Wednesday that destroyed a vacant house in Miami was being termed suspicious.

Lt. Kyle Highsmith of the Miami Fire Department said firefighters were called at 2:30 a.m. to the 700 block of N Street Northwest, where they found a single-story home in flames. Smith said the fire had vented through the roof by the time firefighters arrived, and the blaze destroyed the house.

No injuries were reported, Smith said.

He said the Miami Police Department was investigating the matter as a possible case of arson. The owner of the property had yet to be identified, he said.
