SARCOXIE, Mo. — The city of Sarcoxie has been selected as agent for the Sarcoxie license office, according to an announcement Thursday from the office of Gov. Jay Nixon.

The city has been the office agent since 2007, and submitted the only bid for the operation. The Missouri Department of Revenue implemented a new bidding system in January, at the direction of the governor. Of the 134 offices awarded so far, 77 have gone to incumbents or bidders associated with previous operations and 57 have been awarded to new agents.

Transactions conducted at the offices include issuing and renewing drivers licenses, issuing titles for motor vehicles and issuing and renewing car and boat registrations.
