A Seligman resident was killed and three other people were injured in a three-vehicle accident at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 90, less than two miles from Highway 37 in Barry County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
One of the drivers, Ricky D. Taylor, 51, was pronounced dead at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, the patrol said. Taken to the same hospital were a second driver, Vang C. Lee, 57, and his passengers, Pazoe Lee, 15, and Yee Thao, 47, all of Washburn, the patrol said.
The patrol said the accident happened as Taylor was attempting to pass a westbound pickup truck driven by David E. Wickman, 70, of Washburn, and Taylor’s car struck Lee’s eastbound car head-on. Lee’s car then struck Wickman’s pickup truck, the patrol said.
n A Springfield man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 7:35 p.m. Wednesday on County Road 2010, five miles west of Phelps in Lawrence County, the state patrol said.
Elijah A. Long, 20, was taken to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, the patrol said.
Long was driving an eastbound vehicle that ran off the road and overturned, the patrol said.
n A Seligman resident was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday on County Road 1075, two miles south of Exeter in Barry County, the state patrol said.
Darrell W. Clubb, 30, was treated at St. John’s Hospital in Cassville and released, the patrol said.
Clubb was driving a northbound car that ran off the road, struck a fence and overturned before striking a utility pole, the patrol said.
n Three Neosho residents were injured in a single-vehicle accident at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday on Route CC, a half-mile south of Racine in Newton County, the state patrol said.
The driver, Clifford S. Castleberry, 78, and two passengers, Evelyn M. Castleberry, 67, and Helen E. Prince, 91, were taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the patrol said.
The southbound car ran off the road and struck a tree, the patrol said.
n A 22-year-old man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 11:01 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of the Home Depot store in Pittsburg, Kan., according to the Pittsburg Police Department.
Brandon Shultz, of Pittsburg, was taken by ambulance to Mount Carmel Regional Medical Center in Pittsburg, police said.
Shultz’s car that struck a light pole in the lot, causing his vehicle’s air bags to deploy and injure his head, the report said.
