JAY, Okla. — Two rural Delaware County men are facing drug trafficking charges after the federal Drug Enforcement Administration reportedly tracked 36 pounds of opium from Laos to a post office box in Colcord.

Wang Khang, 25, and Xue Yang, 32, were arrested Wednesday after retrieving from the post office box what was supposed to be 3.3 pounds of opium, according to an arrest affidavit.

The original content of the shipment was seized in Dallas, where federal officials intercepted and opened the package. They reportedly found the opium wrapped in plastic and tucked within a shipment of mushrooms.

The men were taken to the Delaware County Jail and were charged by the district attorney’s office with one count of endeavoring to manufacture a controlled drug.

Bond was set at $1,000,000 for each defendant.
