A Kansas resident was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 12:20 p.m. Wednesday at highways 43 and 171, a mile north of Joplin in Jasper County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Guadeloupe D. Clos, 50, of Pittsburg, was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Joplin, the state patrol said.

Clos was driving an eastbound car that was struck in the rear by an eastbound sport utility vehicle driven by Julie A. Bird, 36, of Carl Junction, the patrol said.
