The athletic committee has denied the appeal of two Missouri Southern State University football players who requested permission to contact other schools in the MIAA to play next year.
Jared Brawner and Korie Henry are both seniors who are set to graduate from MSSU. Both have medical eligibility to continue playing, and were hoping to use that eligibility to apply for athletic scholarships to allow them to pay for graduate school.
“I just kind of see it as Missouri Southern looking out for Missouri Southern,” said Henry, who contacted the Globe Tuesday morning about the committee’s decision. “If that’s what they have to do, so be it.”
