A Lamar man was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday on U.S. Highway 160, five miles west of Lamar in Barton County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Nathan A. Small, 31, was flown by medical helicopter to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, authorities said.

Small was driving an eastbound car that collided with an eastbound tractor-trailer driven by Tracy N. Simpson, 47, of Lamar, when Small attempted to make a U-turn at Route O, the patrol said.

n Two people were injured in a single-vehicle accident at 6:27 p.m. Tuesday on Farm Road 1230, five miles west of Shell Knob in Barry County, the state patrol said.

The driver, Shaun A. Flygare, 26, and his passenger, Blake A. Flygare, 5, both of Shell Knob, were taken to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, the patrol said.

The southbound car ran off the road, and struck a fence and a pile of logs, the patrol said.
