Members of the Joplin Eagles high school marching band are preparing to head to Arlington, Tex., to participate in the 2010 Cotton Bowl.

About 89 students and parents will leave tomorrow morning, according to band booster president Mike Kersey. The band students and boosters raised over $60,000 to finance the trip.

The Cotton Bowl will be televised on Jan. 1, and pits the Oklahoma State Cowboys against the Ole Miss Rebels.

The Riverton High School band will travel to San Antonio, Texas, to perform Saturday night with other bands during the halftime show at the Alamo Bowl.

The band will leave from the school at 5 a.m. Wednesday, said Debbie Clark, mother of band member Johnathan Clark.
