NEOSHO, Mo. —
Rudy Farber, 71, Neosho, was recently chosen for a second term as chairman of the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission. He will through March 2013.
Farber served as chairman of the commission from March 2010 to March 2011, before Grace Nichols, of St. Charles, took over as chairperson.
The bipartisan commission governs the Missouri Department of Transportation, the agency responsible for building and maintaining the state highway system and supporting other transportation efforts in Missouri.
Nichols, St. Charles, will assume the position of vice-chair.
Farber, a Republican, was appointed to the commission in March 2007 and most recently served as vice chairperson. His term expires in March 2013.
“Rudy and Grace are great folks and experienced leaders who have the best interest of Missourians at heart,” MoDOT Director Kevin Keith said in a statement. “I look forward to working with them as we tackle some big challenges, most notably how we are going to fund transportation at the state and federal level for the long term.”
Farber is chairman of the board of Community Bank & Trust, based in Neosho.

Other members of the Missouri Highways and Transportatio Commission are Stephen Miller, Kansas City; Joe Carmichael, Springfield and Kenneth Suelthaus, St. Louis.
