JOPLIN, Mo. —
The Resource, Recovery and Rebuilding Center that has been operated by the state in the wake of the May 2011 tornado will open in a new location on Wednesday.
The new site will be at 3600 E. Newman Road, at regional offices of the Missouri Department of Mental health.
The center, opened June 7, 2011 at 705 Illinois Avenue, has helped more than 2,300 Joplin-area families with services offered by state agencies at the site.
The new office will include credit counseling, services through the Missouri Housing Development Corporation and Department of Economic Development, and referral services to other state agencies. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday. The center can be reached by phone at 625-9100.
