PITTSBURG, Kan. —
UPDATED, 5:32 p.m. - It's standing room only at the Pittsburg City Commission meeting where the commission will consider a resolution to begin the process of looking at implementing city-administered trash service that is required for residents and would be billed with monthly utilities.
If the resolution is approved tonight, it could begin the process, but there will still be options to explore and bids to consider before the trash serivice will start.

A public hearing will be held at 5:30 p.m. today in the Municipal Court Room at the Pittsburg Law Enforcement Center, 201 N. Pine St., for the city commission to consider passage of a resolution that would allow establishing an organized residential solid waste collection service within the city limits.
After the public hearing, the commission will disapprove or approve and authorize the mayor to sign the resolution on behalf of the City.
