JOPLIN, Mo. — Officials of Freeman Health System on Wednesday announced that Philip Willcoxon has been named the new chief executive officer of Ozark Center.

Most recently senior vice president of administration, Willcoxon joined Freeman in 1992 and was chief executive officer of Freeman Neosho Hospital.

He succeeds Paula Baker, a 30-year veteran of the Ozark Center operation who has served as chief executive since 2003. In 2008, Baker also was promoted to senior vice president for clinical administration at Freeman. She continued to serve as Ozark Center CEO on an interim basis; Willcoxon’s appointment will allow her to work full-time in the clinical post at Freeman. Baker will continue to supervise all autism programming for Freeman, including Ozark Center for Autism, which she helped establish, according to Gary Duncan, president and chief executive officer at Freeman.
