Granby man arrested on shooting charges

GRANBY, Mo. — A Granby man is in custody on first-degree assault and armed criminal action charges stemming from a weekend shooting at a barbecue in Neosho, according to the Newton County Sheriff’s Department.

William “Willie” Eads, 29, was arrested Tuesday night without incident, Sheriff Ken Copeland said.

Copeland said the victim and witnesses were having a barbecue on Friday at a home in the 2500 block of N. Wood Street in Neosho. An argument ensued, and the suspect allegedly shot the victim in the arm with a handgun.

Eads is also wanted in connection to an alleged burglary and stabbing incident that occurred in Webb City on Sept. 29.
