Jasper County Sheriff Archie Dunn has confirmed this afternoon that the body of an infant has been found in the Spring River east of Carthage, where officers have been searching throughout the day.
More details are to be released during a press conference at 7 p.m. tonight in Carthage.
The news comes after the announcement made earlier today by Carthage Police Chief Greg Dagnan that the father of the missing 8-month old baby, Eddie Salazar, 29, has been charged with filing a false police report after he alleged that two masked men broke into his Carthage home Thursday night and abducted the baby.
