NEOSHO, Mo. — The Neosho City Council wants to meet with the Neosho Transportation Development District board before an Oct. 29 court hearing to try to resolve issues dividing them.

TDD Board chairman Jim Cummins said he supports the idea, but he isn’t sure the TDD board can be assembled for a meeting before the hearing date.

Cummins and Mayor Richard Davidson have been holding informal talks, Davidson said. He said a more formal meeting of the two entities is needed to accomplish anything.

The city has filed a petition in court challenging the formation of the TDD, which could result in it being dissolved. Cummins in a Sept. 20 letter to the Missouri Highway and Transportation Department director acknowledged that the TDD wasn’t properly created under state statutes.

No meeting date has been set.
