Five motorists hurt in traffic accidents


An Oklahoma man was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday on Missouri Highway 43, two miles south of Joplin in Newton County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Roger N. Decker, 45, of Braggs, was taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the patrol said.

Decker was driving a southbound tractor-trailer that ran into the rear of a southbound car driven by Sarinda S. Dudley, 36, of Seneca, when Dudley slowed to make a right turn, the patrol said.

n Four Nevada, Mo., teenagers were injured in a single-vehicle accident at 8:05 p.m. Monday on Mini Ball Road, two miles northwest of Nevada in Vernon County, the state patrol said.

The driver, Landon G. Wilson, 16, and his passengers, Stephaney L. Franklin, 13, Kendra R. Blunt, 13, and Chanci D. Beisley, 15, were taken to Nevada Regional Medical Center, the patrol said.

The westbound car ran off the gravel road and overturned, the patrol said.
