A 27-year-old woman reported being robbed Friday night of $500 in cash and more than $750 worth of other belongings inside her room at a Joplin motel.
Officers were called to the Plaza Motel at 2612 E. Seventh St. after a male acquaintance of Vanessa Miranda’s entered her room, punched her in the face, and stole her laptop computer, cell phone, purse, hair dryer and some clothing, according to Cpl. Chuck Niess of the Joplin Police Department. The purse contained $500 in cash, Miranda told the officers.
The case remained under investigation Monday without an arrest having been made, Niess said.
