A Granby man was killed in a two-vehicle accident at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. Highway 60, less than two miles east of Neosho in Newton County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Donald E. Keller, 54, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by a Newton County deputy coroner, the state patrol said.
Keller was driving an eastbound pickup truck that was struck head-on by a westbound tractor-trailer that crossed the centerline in an attempt to avoid striking a stopped vehicle on the highway, the patrol said. The driver of the truck rig was identified as Owen M. Martin, 31, of Granby.
n Two Miller residents were injured in a single-vehicle accident at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday on a private drive off County Road 2045 in Lawrence County, according to the state patrol.
The driver, Patricia D. Campbell, 40, and her passenger, Judy K. Matthews, 65, were taken by ambulance to St. John’s Regional Health Center in Springfield, the patrol said.
Campbell lost control of the vehicle on the private drive, and the vehicle struck a tree, the patrol said.
n A Verona woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday on County Road 2130, five miles north of Verona in Lawrence County, the state patrol said.
Natali C. Martinez, 23, was taken by ambulance to St. John’s Hospital in Aurora, the patrol said.
Martinez was driving a southbound vehicle that ran off the road and struck a tree, the patrol said.
