NEOSHO, Mo. —
The Neosho City Council on Tuesday took final action to rescind a cooperative agreement with the Neosho Transportation Development District that was established when the TDD was formed in 2010.
When the council gave preliminary approval to the measure two weeks ago, TDD chairman Ray Stipp said the action could damage negotiations between the city and the TDD. A court hearing is scheduled next week on a city legal challenge to the original formation of the TDD.
Stipp declined comment about the final action when contacted Wednesday. He said the TDD board would release a statement soon.
“There was nothing malicious about us rescinding that,” Councilman Charles Collinsworth said Tuesday. “It was just good housekeeping. It was tying up loose ends.”
