Neosho plans 11th Dickens Christmas Faire

NEOSHO, Mo. — Neosho will be cast back to 19th century England on Saturday with its 11th annual Dickens Christmas Faire.

The activities will center around the historic downtown square, with many events taking place at The Civic, 109 W. Main St. It is presented by the Neosho Area Chamber of Commerce Downtown Events Committee.

Features include craft vendors, horse-drawn carriage rides, breakfast with Santa, and crafts for children and adults.

The day will culminate with the Christmas parade at 5 p.m.

Breakfast with Santa is from 8 to 11 a.m. at The Civic. The breakfast is free, but photo packages will be available for purchase.

The horse-drawn carriage rides will begin at The Civic and go around the square. The cost is $2 per person.

A 5K run, or walk, will start at 9 a.m. at the Neosho Soccer Field at Morse Park. Proceeds benefit the Neosho High School Show Choir.

There will be a Victorian Christmas ornament workshop from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Newton County Historical Park.

The Neosho United Methodist Church will hold its Pancake Feed fundraiser from 3 to 7 p.m.

The lighted Christmas parade, starting at 5 p.m. downtown, is expecting 120 entries, mostly floats.

Christmas Jazz with Santa, featuring the Jack Mitchell Band, is to be presented at 7 p.m. at The Civic. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children.
