CARTHAGE, Mo. —
The Jasper County commission on Tuesday approved a series of budget adjustments designed to cover additional expenses through the end of the fiscal year.
The largest amendment translated to a $63,201 increase in the county’s general fund — most to go to payroll costs to cover a 2 percent pay hike for workers that was approved in September. Costs during the first two months of the increase were paid by existing funds, said Richard Webster, county auditor, after the meeting.
Also approved was a $560,000 increase in the county highway budget, to pay for additional road resurfacing projects and a $1,200 shift between funds in the assessment budget. The panel also approved a $23,600 increase in the Law Enforcement Sales Tax budget to cover costs for the remainder of the year.
