NEOSHO, Mo. —
The Neosho City Council on Tuesday gave City Manager Troy Royer the go-ahead to make the city golf course an entirely city-run operation.
The city had been contracting management of the golf course to Justin Beck, but Beck has taken a job running the golf course in Monett.
The city would hire a greenskeeper.
“If you don’t have that, then nothing else really matters,” Councilman David Ruth said of the importance of a greenskeeper.
Royer said the arrangement will save the city money as the transition is made from the contract to the city-run operation, but probably not in future years.
