NEOSHO, Mo. —
After approval Friday by the Missouri Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, the National Park Service will consider the Neosho Wholesale Grocery Co. building for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places.
The advisory council approved all the nominations it was presented at its meeting.
Neosho Wholesale Grocery Co., 224 N. Washington St., was built in 1908 and expanded in 1922. It was part of second industrial district in Neosho that came with the arrival of the railroad. The building was the third sizable company to locate along North Washington Street, according to the nomination.
Owners Robert W. Fullerton and Oscar Robinett filed for bankruptcy in 1923. The building was subsequently occupied by other businesses, but wasn’t changed much.
