From staff reports
JOPLIN, Mo. —
A strong, fast-moving storm will move into the area later today and could bring a couple inches of snow to Southeast Kansas and Southwest Missouri.
The National Weather Service station in Springfield said light rainfall will spread into the region this afternoon and will mix with snow in the evening, changing over to snow during the late evening and overnight hours.
Snow accumulation will vary across the region, ranging from a dusting to two inches across far southern Missouri and extreme Southeast Kansas, along a line from Pittsburg, Kan., to Fort Leonard Wood.
Accumulations of up to three inches cannot be ruled out along the Missouri-Arkansas line.
