The Jasper County prosecutor’s office has charged a 27-year-old man with felony tampering with a vehicle at a Joplin car dealership.

Cpl. Chuck Niess of the Joplin Police Department said officers arrested Benjamin D. Boyer, of Joplin, about 1:20 a.m. Saturday at the Roper East dealership at 2015 E. Seventh St. He said officers were checking out a report of suspicious activity in the area and reportedly caught Boyer in the act of removing a cover off the back of a pickup truck belonging to the dealership.

Boyer was charged Monday with second-degree tampering.
