NEOSHO, Mo. — The Neosho City Council has scheduled a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday to discuss a resolution of a legal dispute with the Neosho Transportation Development District.

The meeting comes after the TDD board issued a sometimes harshly-worded statement that Mayor Richard Davidson said the city read as an opening to a resolution.

Included in the TDD statement was the board’s willingness to agree to a city-controlled Community Improvement District, if the TDD is allowed to remain in place until the CID is established.

A court hearing is set Friday to hear the city’s legal challenge to the TDD. It alleges that the TDD was formed under the wrong state statute.

“I think it’s really going to be too bad if we walk into court on Friday and have the judge fix it,” said TDD board member Steve Roark. “I think we would still love to have some reconciliation. This really doesn’t make Neosho look good.”
