Missouri Southern’s two-game winning streak ended with a 2-0 loss at Truman State on Friday afternoon.
Trisha Shoemaker’s team-leading ninth goal of the season gave the Bulldogs the lead in the eighth minute.
It stayed 1-0 until the 68th minute when Alexis Heffeman scored after a corner kick.
The Bulldogs (7-2, 4-1 MIAA) outshot the Lions 19-10, including a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal.
Missouri Southern (2-6-1, 2-3) have another league game at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lindenwood.
Jennies beat Lions
No. 8-ranked Central Missouri swept Missouri Southern 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-11) in an MIAA volleyball match Thursday night at Robert Ellis Young Gymnasium.
Katie Politte led the Lions with seven kills and a .368 hitting percentage. Abby Finder had 21 assists, Sydney Potts made 13 digs, and Nai Montano and Payton Graves each had five kills.
Aubir Renshaw had nine kills and Carly Sojka eight for the Jennies (11-3, 5-0 MIAA).
The Lions (0-14, 0-5) resume conference play at Lindenwood at 7 p.m. today.
