SAN FRANCISCO —
Senior guard Mel Khlok scored 16 points to lead three players in double figures as San Francisco beat Missouri Southern 72-40 Friday night in a women’s basketball exhibition game in War Memorial Gym.
The Lions, who open regular-season play next weekend in the Pittsburg State Tipoff Classic, received nine points from Shonte Clay and eight apiece from Johnna TenBerge and Dominique Mosley.
Mosley also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds as the Lions were outrebounded by only four (38-34) by the Division I Dons.
Forward Alicia Scafidi collected 13 points and seven rebounds for USF, and guard Aundrea Gordon had 12 points and six assists.
The Lions shot 28 percent from the floor (13-of-47) compared to 46 percent (29-of-63) for the Dons. Missouri Southern hit 33 percent from 3-point range (5-of-15) and 69 percent (9-of-13) at the foul line.
