Missouri Southern senior forward Megan Stueve is a first-team selection on the MIAA all-conference womeh’s soccer team, it was announced Friday.
The Lions’ senior midfielder Candis Clark, senior defender Cortney Sanders and junior forward Tiffany Laughlin all received honorable mention.
Stueve scored a conference-high 13 goals and added an assist for 27 points. She ranked third in the conference with 59 shots, including 31 on goal.
She scored a hat trick in the Lions’ 3-0 home victory over Nebraska-Kearney on Sept. 23. She had four game-winning goals, including a 1-0 double-overtime victory at Missouri Western last week.
Stueve accounted for 13 of the Lions’ 23 goals this year and finished her career with 23 goals (third in school history), 50 points (fourth) and 113 shots (fifth).
Clark tallied two goals this season, including the game-winner in a 2-1 win at home over Fort Hays State.
Sanders helped the Lions pitch two shutouts while holding opponents to a .147 shooting percentage.
Laughlin was second on the team with nine points — one goal and seven assists. She assisted on both goals in a 2-1 home victory over Washbunr.
The Lions finished the year with a 5-10-3 record and lost 4-0 at Central Oklahoma in the first round of the conference postseason tournament.
